1. OBJECTIVE: To communicate and standardize the preanalytical, analytical and postanalytic processes of our hospital's laboratory to all hospital staff, to inform both the laboratory and other relevant hospital personnel, and to support clinical diagnosis at the highest level.

2. SCOPE: All service, polyclinic and emergency service workers, laboratory and blood collection workers serving these units.

3. RESPONSIBLE:

Laboratory Biochemist and Laboratory Staff

4. APPLICATION:

4.1 Running Time of Samples



Tests Worked Uninterruptedly for 24 Hours (under the scope of EMERGENCY):

Daytime (08:00-17:00) Tests Worked in Clinic and Outpatient Clinic Patients:

All of our laboratory tests are studied and concluded on the same day.


Tests Run in External Laboratory

          The tests that are not studied in our laboratory (Vitamin-D, ANA, Insulin, PTH, Testosterone, TORCH Panel and more) are studied in the Private Synevo Laboratory in Ankara and the results are given within 10 at the latest.


4.2 Sample Types

     The sample tubes-types used in our laboratory and the tests studied are as follows;


Yellow Capped Plain and Gel Tube (All Biochemical tests except HbA1c, all Hormone and Viral Marker tests, Serological tests)

BLUE Capped Citrate Tube (All Coagulation tests)

Purple Capped EDTA Tube (Hemogram, HbA1c, Blood group and Cross-Match test)

BLACK Capped Tube (Sedimentation)

URINE (Full Urinalysis)

FAT (Parasite search, Occult Blood, Rotavirus-Adenovirus examination)

Heparinized Blood (Blood Gas Analysis)

4.3 Tests Requiring Preliminary Preparation

Coagulation Tests à 2 hours after donating blood
Hemogram à 1.5 hours after donating blood
Cardiac Tests à 2 hours after blood donation
Sedimentation Test à 2 hours after blood donation
Complete Urinalysis à 1 hour after urination
Blood group à 2 hours after donating blood
Brucella Rose Bengal à 2 hours after donating blood
Direct Look at Feces à 1 hour after giving stool
Adeno-Rotavirus Tests à 1 hour after giving stool
Blood Gas Test à 5-15 minutes after giving blood

Routine Biochemical Tests à 1.5 hours after blood donation
HbA1c Test à 2.5 hours after donating blood
Hormone and Viral Marker Tests à 2.5 hours after donating blood


Coagulation Tests à 1.5 hours after blood donation
Hemogram à 1 hour after donating blood
Cardiac Tests à 1.5 hours after blood donation
Sedimentation Test à 1.5 hours after blood donation
